Base-level outdoor water restrictions are currently in place in Lower Hutt, Porirua, Wellington, Upper Hutt and South Wairarapa. 

Outdoor water restrictions apply during daylight saving months (September – April) in Lower Hutt, Porirua and Wellington, and are all year-round for Upper Hutt and South Wairarapa.

Restrictions can be increased depending on demand and supply around the region.

South Wairarapa District Council

Baseline outdoor watering restrictions now apply in Martinborough, Greytown and Featherston.

This means that sprinkler and irrigation systems can only be used on alternating days.

Even numbered properties on even numbered dates and odd numbered properties on odd numbered dates.

Restrictions are in place all year-round.
